Frequently asked questions regarding Kindergarten Registration:

How do I know which school my child should attend?

To determine whether or not your child should be enrolled at Berlin Community School, just check your (or the property owner's) tax bill!  If property taxes are paid to the Borough of Berlin, then you should enroll your child at Berlin Community School.  If taxes are paid to Berlin Township, Erial, Voorhees, Winslow, or any borough other than Berlin Borough, then you will need to contact the school district within the borough that those taxes are paid.  Enrollment in a local school district is determined by the borough to which taxes are paid, not a person's postal mailing address.

How old does my child have to be to enter Kindergarten?

Children entering Kindergarten must turn 5 (five) years old by October 1st of the year which they begin school. For example, to enter Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year, your child will need to turn 5 (five) by October 1, 2020.

Do I need to register in person?

Yes, parents or guardians must register in person. However, it is not necessary for both parents to attend.

Is it necessary for me to bring my child?

No, it is not necessary to bring your child with you to Registration. All students entering Kindergarten will be screened for readiness; however, you will schedule the screening appointment at the time of registration. Kindergarten screening generally occurs later in the spring, prior to the end of the current school year.

Does Berlin Community School offer a full day Kindergarten program?

Yes, currently Berlin Community School offers a full day Kindergarten.

How many Kindergarten classes are there, and how many students are in each class?

Currently, we have four Kindergarten classes, averaging about 18 students per class.
