Dr. Kristen Martello
Dr. Martello was raised in Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Right after graduation from Penn State, she began teaching middle school Physical Education & Health at the Sussex County Charter School for Technology in Sussex NJ.
Dr. Martello then went on to earn her Master's Degree in Administrative Leadership from New Jersey City University while teaching Physical Education & Health at Hopatcong High School. After 7 years at the high school, her family relocated to Cherry Hill, NJ. She enjoyed two years at home raising her three children now ages 12, 14, and 16.
After her time at home with her children, she went back to work part time as an Elementary Physical Education and Health teacher for the Gibbsboro School District. At the start of her second year with the Gibbsboro School District, she was appointed Principal, which she served for two years, followed by serving the Berlin Borough School District as Assistant Principal and Leader of the Character Education Program for five years. Dr. Martello was offered the opportunity to serve both the Berlin Borough and Gibbsboro School Districts as Interim Shared Superintendent from July 2015 to January 2016. As of February 1, 2016, Dr. Martello was appointed as Superintendent of the Berlin Borough School District.
As of June 2018, Dr. Martello earned her Ed.D in Administrative Leadership from Walden University.
